6 slices of Jarlsberg cheese
100 grams of roasted button mushrooms in olive oil
200 grams of roast cajun beef

All this between three comes to $3.33

Simple, quick and easy

Last time we were out eating in the park we saw a BBQ, We could hardly contain ourselves. “The possibilities are endless” said Iron chef Ben. It was agreed that on a very special day we would attempt the worlds first discount decidence BBQ. It was decided by the Iron chefs that the special day would be known as… “Monday”.

1 lunch hour
5 Legends
1 Barbeque
3 Cars
12 Bread rolls
250 grams of cheese
250 grams of raw prawns
10 pieces of the finest rump fillet
1 bag of pre cut lettuce
1 bottle of Australian outback BBQ sauce

It was all too easy, Break the bread, slap on a steak, throw on some cheese, lettuce and a hint of sauce. Top it off with some cooked prawns. Surf and Turf decidence style. No utensils were used during the making of this feast. With a subtle nod to each other we wiped our mouths on our sleeves dusted ourselves off and walked away smiling.

3 is the Magic number

Today we realised that buying for 2 is not as economical

1 small whole chicken

sundried tomato

olives

boccolini

bread rolls

came to a grand total of $8 each

had we had Ben and split it 3 ways with a couple of extra rolls this would have only been around $5 or so dollars, thats a little closer to the amount that we are tyring to acheive.

200 grams of shaved roast beef
4 large slices of char grilled eggplant
A handfull of Semi sundried tomatoes mixed with fetta cheese
2 very large italian artichokes
50 grams of char grilled and marinated mushrooms
50 grams of Kalamata olives
240 grams of hommus
Several sheets of wholemeal lebanese bread

All of this coming to a grand total of $21.58

thats $5.39 each

The lowest of lows

Today I was forced to eat by myself, as the other Iron Chefs were working.

As I ate my pre-prepared takeaway food I pondered the question.

Which came first the Chicken Goujons or the Egg Sandwich.

I am still not sure, I think they had both been there for about 3 weeks, one thing is for sure they were both fowl.

Sorry there is no content today, I am as dissapointed as you are!

Today revealed the potential of this discount decadence, as we browsed the local woolworths and saw caviar, liver pate and much more we realised that this would not get repetative or uniteresting any time soon.

Purchased from Woolworths
1 Sour Dough stick
9 large Manzanilla olives stuffed with fetta cheese olives
60 grams of Prosciutto latin for thoroughly dried (salted and dried ham)
1 small container of Dijon mustard (mustard made on verjuice instead of vinegar)
100 grams of sliced smoked salmon
110 grams of camembert cheese (made from unpasterised cows milk, and ripened by moulds)

All this euphoria only came to $16.66 thats $5.53 per head, perhaps you will try this and comment on your experiences!

Photos coming soon hang in there!
